Self-Assessment
When receiving the rhetorical analysis assignment, many topics were on my mind. But I wanted to search for a struggle that people can relate to, having to meet the beauty standards of society. This struggle was the reason why I chose the provocative image of the PETA ad. Seeing my peers’ reactions in our class reassured me that this was a perfect image to write about. However, I did come across certain issues with this topic. I had never constructed my writing on an image before so it had proven to be a difficult task. As well as making sure that I wasn’t stating my opinion or conversing about my issues on the topic. Throughout this essay, I was able to check some course learning objectives that I had accomplished for this class. Course learning objective one was a challenging objective but I was able to accomplish it with great pleasure as after one draft I was able to get a 100% on the assignment. Objective three had already been accomplished in a previous class but I was glad that this assignment strengthened my knowledge of a rhetorical situation. The last object I was able to accomplish in this assignment was number six which had been a fear of mine throughout the assignment but allowed me to formulate a good essay anyways. It was challenging but rewarding in the end.
